Hello. First off, welcome to my humble web page. For those of you who would like to get to know me, or those of you who stumbled upon this site out of sheer boredom, you have found the right place. This page is my biography and will bore you out of your minds. Now, this is my story (all about how, my life got flipped turned upside-down, let me take a minute, just sit right there, I'll tell you how I became the Prince of a town called Bel Air)...
My name is Austin. I an a student at Georgia Tech, but I am currently residing in near Seattle, Washington. Not because I'm severely lost or anything, I'm here cooping for Kimberly Clark Corp at the Everett mill. I've been here since May, serving a double coop term. I'll be back in Atlanta near the end of December. I'm majoring in electrical engineering. I was planning on getting a masters in audio engineering, but now, in the middle of actual real world experience, I'm split between audio, power, and systems and controls. The more I learn, the more uncertain I am about my future. I like to skate, breakdance, play guitar and piano, and occasionally draw/sketch stuff. Ummm...Thai food is my fav. My favorite color is blue. I have been playing guitar since February or March '99, so I've been playing for over 3 years, but some outside factors (COLLEGE) have prevented me from touching a guitar for any decent amount of time for the past 2 years and a bit. But now that I'm in Seattle, I've sort of picked it up again... sort of. I have a slight background in judo, some form of karate, taekwondo, and Muay Thai (Thai kickboxing). My greatest passion right now is breakdancing, even though I suck and go to practice very sporadically. However, I had a bad shoulder injury during a practice (elbow 90 gone horribly wrong) and fucked up my rotator cuff, tore some tissue up in there, and haven't been able to break at all. I've tried, but always end up reinjuring my shoulder. On top of that, I ran into a tree almost a month ago, tearing up my shoulder and trapezius. There's a good story there... it involved a dirt jump and a mountain bike. Oh yeah, mountain biking - trail riding/single track is my newest passion. The injury quickly ended that. Kind of sucks, everything I've been passionate about always ends up incapacitating me, preventing me from doing what I love most. Umm...I like to take things apart... for instance, some time last year, I took a guitar amplifier apart, but when I put it back together, I must have soldered something back on wrong, so when I strummed a chord, the amp started smoking, which wasn't good. So, I guess I like to destroy things, too.
Music is my life. I can't resist a good fast beat. Punk is my love. The very first real music I was ever exposed to was a poorly labeled homemade copy of Nirvana's Bleach album. On a whim of boredom, I popped it in the tape player, sat in a recliner, and became enlightened. Ever since that random summer day, music has driven me in everything I do. That single day... I have recently begun to appreciate as one of the most important life altering days ever. It was not until half a decade later that I made the connection between that album and the superstars known as Nirvana. To that point, I had only heard Bleach once in my life, but the moment I heard it again... instant recognition. After Cobain's abrupt death, all Nirvana songs became sounds of instant depression. That day still hurts. I remember being numb for about a week, not willing to accept the fact that one of the greatest musicians was gone. It finally hit when I saw scenes on MTV of people mourning and crying, honoring his memory. He became a fucking memory. Cobain was music. That was truly the day music died.
